It's no surprise that the fool starts the tarot because he has the key to life that we all need, humility. The fool is a forgotten part of ourselves that we all once knew. He is the child, so wise; he could almost be death himself. To understand the fool, we must be willing to be new born again. Free from our last life time, aligned with the notation that everything is possible, especially the impossible. We must be free of thought, free of attachment simply willing to trust in the simple fact that we will be held. Held in our mother's womb, held in our care taker's arms, held in the tests of life and held in the great unknown death & the beyond. The fool is 0 in the deck and also 22. He lives within the veil - he is the end of the tarot yet also the beginning. He is the simple state of extacsy that belongs no where and is pulsing between every atom. And thus he is the magical unknown of death. There is a holy trinity between the fool, the emperor and the death card. This alliance is a story we must learn about ourselves in each life time. The emperor can easily become the fool yet the fool must transmute death to become the emperor. The fool and the emperor invite us to our own masculinity. The child inside all full of joy and non attachment. The leader who knows how to softly put the childish whelms away and provide for a nation. They are the same person, and we all choose in which moment who we are called to be 🕊️
